YWCA Learning Center/King County Greenbridge Library

The 10,000 square foot YWCA Learning Center in White Center includes classrooms, a state-of-the-art computer learning lab and the new Greenbridge Library. It also houses the YWCA’s Greenbridge Career Development Center and the GirlsFirst leadership program. The Learning Center has an open floor plan to encourage collaborative programming.

The new 2,300 square foot KCLS Greenbridge Library specializes in services to children and has a total collection of more than 11,000 materials, including items in Spanish and Vietnamese. The library features public computers, a Kid's Cyber (computer) Bar as well as study tables, lounge seating and wireless coverage throughout the building.

The single-story building is located on a key street corner in the Greenbridge Community in White Center and is designed to be a welcoming presence to visitors approaching from all directions. Together with the neighboring Wiley Center and White Center Heights Elementary School, the building is part of the service core for the surrounding residential households. Large windows take advantage of natural lighting and allow for views of the surrounding community.

The main lobby is centered in the building, allowing equal access via the public sidewalk on 8th Avenue to the west and the Wiley Center parking lot to the east. The facility is fully accessible, and meets "Built Green" standards for energy and water conservation, use of recycled building materials and attention to indoor air quality.
