Built between 1902 and 1903, the Corona Hotel, or Oriental Block, is located in Seattle's historic Pioneer Square neighborhood. Renovation of the steel frame and unreinforced masonry load bearing structure involved the creation of five stories of market rate loft housing and street level retail.
Exterior terra cotta detailing and existing windows were restored to accent its Richardsonian Romanesque style architecture. Inside, the original marble, wood and cast iron details were restored/reused and provide an historic contrast to the modern floor plans, materials and amenities.
