SMR Architects' professional services comprise all phases of architectural practice, including site planning, feasibility studies, affordable housing, tenant space planning, barrier-free design, LEED sustainable design, and knowledge of tax incentives for low-income housing and historic buildings. Current work includes a number of affordable housing projects and commercial and cultural spaces.
Private and public sector clients include Capitol Hill Housing, YWCA of Seattle King County and Snohomish County, Artspace Projects, Inc. (Minneapolis), Plymouth Housing Group, The Salvation Army, The University of Washington, Historic Seattle, and other prominent developers and professional clients.
For more than 20 years our firm has been located in downtown Seattle's circa 1900's Maritime Building, as an expression of our appreciation for the value that historic structures provide to the character of our community.
SMR Architects is comprised of 19 total individuals: three Partners, one Consulting Principal, one Associate Principal, seven Associates, five Interns, and two Administrative staff. Our consistently small and select number allows us to maintain close involvement in all aspects of our projects and better respond to the needs of our clients.
